Muscat Pharmacy is one of the earliest Pharmacies in Oman. The Pharmacy was started by the Late H.E. Qais A M Zawawi and Dr. Asim Al-Jamali in 1968. Progress has been steady over the years. This was also the period of Oman’s Renaissance under His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The Management was successful in bringing some of the best agencies in the world. Most of them are with the Company until today. The Company was the first Pharmacy in Oman to obtain the ISO 9002 certification of its Quality Management System in 1999. Later, in 2002 the Company again had the distinction of being the first Pharmacy to upgrade its Quality Management System to the new Standards ISO 9001:2000.

Muscat Pharmacy today, has the distinction of being one of the reputed and well managed Pharmacies in the Gulf with 67 retail outlets. It continues to remain as Oman’s only Pharmacy with 31 outlets in Oman’s interior. This is an eloquent testimony of the vision of the founders and Management to bring Health Care to the people.

Muscat Pharmacy is a multi-product company with approximately 55,000 items from 730 vendors drawn world-wide and employs 840 personnel.

The company has diversified from its core areas of Pharmaceuticals, hospital and laboratory instruments and equipment, surgical products to a wider range of internationally known Perfumes and cosmetics, Baby care, Health foods, Veterinary, Agricultural and Fertilizer products. It also has an array of the choicest Consumer products that are retailed and wholesaled across the country.

Muscat Pharmacy has the resources and infrastructure to obtain and stock products in the best conditions. Four warehouses, closely clustered around the head office at Wadi Kabir provide a total storage area of 8,400 Sq.M. The Company has a fleet of 68 delivery vehicles to deliver products to any part in Oman. The objective of the company is to cater to institutional market and private pharmacies and widen the distribution network in Salalah so that customer’s requirements are met within shortest possible response time.

Information technology at Muscat Pharmacy & Stores L.L.C. plays a critical role in providing necessary support for conducting the business efficiently and promptly. EMS software built on Oracle platform was customized to the requirement of various functional managers, this software is being maintained by the I.T team. A Wide Area Network connects all 67 outlets and other business locations to the Head Office on a real time basis.
